About Us: Yoseikan of Orlando II is a member of the United States Chito-Ryu Karate Federation. All U.S. Chito-Ryu Karate Federation branch schools (shibu dojos) have the same curriculum, and obey the same traditions. We visit the Honbu regularly, to train hard, work on our techniques, and to learn. All of our black belt tests and certifications are given at the Honbu in Covington, KY to ensure that there is a consistent level of skill present within all karatekas.
Our Karate curriculum stresses the importance of perfecting techniques, which we have been taught is best done through the execution of "katas" or formal exercises. The sequences of pre-arranged blocks, punches, strikes, and kicks are meant to teach the student new muscle memory, balance, proper body movement, breathing, positioning, and timing. We believe that...Perfect practice makes perfect! Our Mission: "Only when Karate is practiced properly, can it be understood to its fullest extent". Some basic information about our style and our dojo: Traditional karate follows the same traditions that the historical Okinawan practitioners followed. We bow to show respect to our teacher(s), the dojo, and each other. We also start and end each class with meditation.
Our Vision To instill peace through knowledge, and this is our creed; Showa (Enlightened Peace) We who study Karate-do should never forget the spirit of the warrior's way. With peace, perseverance, and hard work, we will achieve our goals without failure!
